Time travel. X-ray vision. Telepathy.
Time travel was the one I pictured. I’d go back, invest in the stock market and come home with a pile of money. Then I realized I didn’t know enough about the stock market to pull it off.
Back then, the TV was always on. And you knew what time it was by what was on.
I knew it was time to head off to school when I heard, “Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane!”
And the trailing indicator that told me I was late? “Join us next time…”
Trailing indicators like total sales and average ticket are good. Leading indicators like occupancy, revenue per visitor and conversion are better. Comparing every location to the others, and to its own past, in real time is the best you can do.
Today you can see it from almost anywhere. The past, and a glimpse of what’s coming.
It’s like a superpower, right there in the palm of your hand.
The question is, do you know what to do when you get there?
Cheers,
Jerry
P.S. Most retailers know their average ticket cold. Almost none know their revenue per visitor, because nobody’s counting who walks in. Trakwell tells you whether each location is hearing the theme song or “join us next time,” every location, in real time. Want to know yours? Let’s get your revenue per visitor.
