Ever notice how many cities are approximately 40 miles apart?
I think it’s because this is how far we could travel on horseback when our cities were first created.
Imagine what it felt like back then if someone said, “someday you will travel 40 miles in 40 minutes”.
But these words took a long time to manifest.
According to the Bible, the first words spoken were, “Let there be light”.
For us, there must first be light for something to be seen. Chosen. Elevated. And it is our attention that determines the words that we say.
But the accuracy of those words is what really matters. You name what you’ve attended to. You declare what will be. The word.
But without attention, there’s nothing to be accurate about. You’re just drifting, speaking words about things you haven’t really seen.
This is where accountability comes in. The distance between word and world is now yours to close.
Action creates. The word becomes fact. Reality conforms.
Where you put your eyes is where your business is. The rest—the speaking, the owning, the doing—flows from that initial act of attention.
Your business’s most valuable asset is the shoppers in your store. And this is why the alchemy of attention, accuracy, accountability and action is essential.
It all starts with the quiet, unglamorous act of deciding to turn the light on and see what is really happening.
